New ‘Into The Woods’ Trailer Reveals The Film Is A Musical

After a summer movie season spent promoting their forthcoming feature with the “I Wish” teaser, Disney has finally released a proper trailer for Into The Woods.

You may have not known this prior to stopping on this page, but Into The Woods is a musical. The film, which is set for release in December, is based on a popular musical and has retained all, or at least most of the original songs while transitioning from stage to screen. The first trailers and ads didn’t reveal this fact, but the new two-and-a-half-minute trailer does that and a whole lot more. Check it out:

The official synopsis reads:

“Into the Woods” is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.

Into The Woods opens nationwide on Christmas Day. With a cast that includes Anna Kendrick, Emily Blunt, Chris Pine, and Meryl Streep it’s not hard to imagine this feature making big bucks with families during the holiday season. Comment below and let us know if you’re excited to see these actors singing together on screen.
