Under The Gun Review sent photographer Kellie Gannon to photograph Kiesza and Betty Who at House of Blues in Cleveland on April 30.

Kiesza embarked on her first headlining tour this spring, stopping in Cleveland on April 30 for a fun-filled, empowering, playful show. Support on this tour came from crazy-talented and always vivacious gal, Betty Who. Both women released their debut albums last October and both are rising, successful solo artists, so naturally this tour collaboration made perfect sense.

Australian beauty Betty Who never missed a beat onstage, rarely had her feet on the ground, and has one of the most infectious smiles I’ve ever seen. It is easy to tell how much of a natural Who is onstage and her happiness radiates throughout every inch of the venue. The focus of Who’s set was her debut album, Take Me When You Go, which has a funky but classic synth pop sound. She kept the crowd dancing, grinning, and singing along throughout the entirety of her performance.

Kiesza, known for her 2014 breakout hit “Hideaway,” demanded full crowd attention as she took the stage to sing hits from her edgy electro-pop debut album, Sound of a Woman. Her set was full of fun choreography with support from two backup dancers, a live drummer, and keyboardist. She has an intense demeanor mixed with graceful moves and interacted very well with the crowd, her booming voice filling the venue. Kiesza is a name that will be catapulted into the limelight this year. She has already collaborated with the likes of Duran Duran, Skrillex, Diplo, and most recently had a feature on the song “Teach Me” from Joey Bada$$’ album.
