New Jersey’s Save Face announced a split with Maryland acoustic act My Heart, My Anchor last week, and they’re back again today with a new track called “Brain.” The song, with accompanying music video, is streaming exclusively over at Absolutepunk.
Unquestionably a guitar-led track, “Brain” gives us a peek at a four-piece iteration of the band, with vocalist Tyler Povanda taking up half of the guitar duties. “Brain” shows a melodic side of Save Face that we’ve yet to see in previous releases, but the vocals that verge on screams and the metal-influenced rhythm work and guitar leads are ever present. Save Face’s side of the split was produced by Jesse Cannon, which is always a good choice for a band in this genre. If you like what you hear, you can pre-order the split here, via the Mayflower Collective webstore.
