UTG PREMIERE: Pettigrew – “Restless” (Music Video)

Indie/spoken word duo Pettigrew are bound to make you feel something; if not the passion seeping from each of their distinctive creations, then at least the relatable nature of their lyrics in both song and prose. Featuring Household frontman Josh Gilbert, Pettigrew meld elements of powerfully evocative spoken poetry with intertwining musical nuances of emo and pop-punk, marrying in a freshly unique experience for the listener. This notion manifests on the band’s newest single, “Restless,” taken from their upcoming six-track EP, titled Melancholia, due out on November 27.

“‘Restless’ was my favorite track to write and record,” lyricist Robert Swaney tells us. “Musically, Josh added elements to the track that blend beautifully with the story line of lost love. Lyrically I left the story open to interpretation so the listener can fill in the blanks to make the story theirs.” Gilbert adds, “With ‘Restless,’ I really played off of the direction of the lyrics. The dreamy vibe of the guitar really built the structure of the song.”

UTG is honored to have the opportunity to exclusively share “Restless” and its accompanying visuals today. You can check out the duo’s newest video below and pre-order Melancholia now before its official release later this month.

This December, you can catch Pettigrew on tour with Weathered for a brief run before the year’s end. Those dates can be found below.
