Immediately upon release of their 2014 LP, Home, Like Noplace Is There, The Hotelier skyrocketed to the topmost ranks of the emo/alternative world, not to mention seemingly every damn ‘best of’ list at the end of the year. Many deemed it “perfect,” which sets the bar pretty high for the band, but something tells us that they have no intention of disappointing fans with their next release.
Titled Goodness, the upcoming third effort from the Massachusetts band is set to drop in May through Tiny Engines. The band has released a video teaser for the record which features what’s presumed to be a full track from the release. The video, as mentioned, is NSFW as it features lots of nudity towards the end. It also features a brief glimpse of a certain house Hotelier fans might recognize.
Commenting on the video in a newsletter to fans, vocalist Christian Holden says:
“It basically came together as me telling my friend Xirin that I wanted a video *like this* and she was like “nah its going to be *like this*” and we did casting which was a pain. Imagine how difficult it might be to find old strangers willing to get nude for you and then show that to the world. Pretty difficult. But housing all those people and then getting up VERY early to shoot and then spending that night driving all around my old hometown taking shots outside my friends’ houses and on streets I used to walk around. It was just kind of surreal and nuts.”
Pre-orders and more information regarding Goodness are yet to be revealed so keep an eye out here at UTG and we’ll keep you up to date on any developments.
