Rest In Peace: Prince dead at 57, publicist confirms

Prince has died at the age of 57 in his Paisley Park home studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota, his publicist confirms.

After earlier reports of a death at the studio address, Associated Press has confirmed the death with a publicist representing Prince. While the cause of death remains unconfirmed at this time, Prince made headlines last week when his flight from Atlanta to his home in Minnesota was forced to make an emergency landing to hospitalize the musician.

Prince’s impact on modern music is enormous and undeniable. He released gorgeous and diverse music with ferocity throughout the years, including records like Purple Rain, 1999, and more in the 1980s and beyond, leaving behind one of the most impressive legacies in contemporary music.

Prince was a fierce supporter of Jay Z’s TIDAL streaming service, where the streaming rights of his catalog exclusively lies.

Rest in peace, Prince. This is what it sounds like when doves cry.
