Under The Gun’s Head of Photography, Corbin Alvae, stopped over at the Big Gigantic Tour on February 16 at The Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak, MI.

Well, back at it again. Decided to do yet another EDM event that rolled through Michigan at the Royal Oak Music Theatre. If you’ve read any of my previous photo sets, you’ll know that I absolutely dislike how the weather currently is in my home state and how sick it got me, so I was shooting a show while I was getting over the sickness. I survived thankfully and got the job done with some fantastic photos that are ahead for you to view.

First off, I arrived right around the time Minnesota electronic producer Manic Focus was gearing up to rumble the venue with a ton of bass. This was my first time seeing him actually and my mind was absolutely blown with how talented this young producer is. With a set filled with tons of rhythmic grooves and heart throbbing bass, Manic Focus definitely kicked things off right with one solid performance that will leave you to remember who he was. This is an artist to keep your eye on, because I’m very sure he’ll be doing great things in the future.

Next up and the final act of the night, Colorado Electronic duo, Big Gigantic. Once again this was another group that I ended up experiencing for the first time. During down time right before the group went on, I had some conversations with the crowd and wanted to find out how Big Gigantic was. Every response I got was all positive and that I needed to gear up for an experience of a life time. Holy hell were they right! Seeing an EDM act combine not only electronic tracks, but adding in live drums and a saxophone, now that right there is absolutely hype! What a great combination and what an amazing show to experience. I highly suggest you go see Big Gigantic whenever they are in your city; their performance is something that is very different currently and it’s absolutely awesome.

Overall, Big Gigantic’s tour was an experience that I wont ever forgot. You know a tour hits home when you leave the venue wanting more and that’s exactly what they did for me, so I’m definitely seeing them again in the future. This is a tour that will go in my top 10 of most well put together tours of 2014 and also a great highlight of my year. Well done, fellas!
