Today is an exciting day for the underground music scene. Brent Martone and Benjamin Lieber of Head North, along with founder of Somewhere Sessions Rachel Cooper, have started a new record label called Quiet Fire Media. By founding Quiet Fire, the partners seek to create a new wave of music culture that fulfill both artists and music consumers with great new content.
In addition to the announcement of the launch, Quiet Fire has announced the first two additions to their roster: Connecticut’s A Will Away and Virginia’s Watermedown. A Will Away are one of my favorite up-and-coming acts that fans of Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, and Listen & Forgive era Transit are sure to love. Watermedown is a solo act reminiscent of Pedro The Lion and Mansions, and has been making waves lately in the local touring circuit.
Check out the label’s announcement video below, and head over to their official website to download a new A Will Away track called “Good Things.” The band has also announced new tour dates, which you can find in the flyer below.
You can listen to A Will Away and Watermedown via their respective Bandcamp pages, here and here. We’ll be working closely with Quiet Fire in the near future, so make sure to stay tuned to UTG.
