Hits Daily Double is reporting that Bon Iver’s new self-titled album has opened at number two on the Billboard albums chart this week, moving 104,687 copies. This is not only an impressive figure considering Bon Iver’s niche market and grassroots fan base, but the record itself leaked over a month ago.
Elsewhere on the chart, Weird Al brought 44,000 people the Alpocalypse and opened in ninth, while August Burns Red’s Leveler entered in thirteenth with 25,240 copies sold.
It is refreshing to see true talent recognize on such a large scale. Have you bought anything recently? Comment below and let us know who is getting your hard earned cash!
