Victory Records broke their recent habit of signing skull-rattling heavy bands and announced today that indie pop rockers The Royalty have officially joined the roster.
The announcement came today via a video uploaded to the label’s official Youtube page. In it, Victory not only welcomes the band, but also showcases a bit of their near-shoegaze sound. You can view the video after the jump.
While news of a softer-genre band on Victory may come as a surprise to some, those familiar with the label’s history will note that signings like this tend to happen every 3-4 years. Just ask June, The Junior Varsity, The Forecast, 1997, or Moros Eros and I’m sure they can fill you in.
