While the world patiently awaits the third Fun. album, guitarist Jack Antonoff has been quietly working on another musical endeavor called Bleachers. The band’s first song, titled “I Wanna Get Better,” is a righteous blast of eighties-inspired rock and roll, complete with upbeat lyrics and Antonoff’s signature guitar sound. You can stream it after the break and purchase it on iTunes.
According to an interview with Radio.com, Antonoff worked with producers Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode) and John Hill (Phantogram, Santigold) on the Bleachers album, which will hopefully see the light of day later this year. This is an especially welcome prospect now that Antonoff’s former band, Steel Train, is officially done.
Bleachers will be appearing at a number of festivals this spring and summer, including South By Southwest in Austin, Texas. Check out the full list of dates on their website.
