Aerosmith begin working on new album

Longtime producer Jack Douglas recently revealed that Aerosmith will release their fourteenth studio album sometime around May 2012. However, with tours in South America and Japan coming up in the fall and winter, the band’s recording will come to a halt until January.

This album will be the first collection of Aerosmith’s new material since 2001’s Just Push Play.

Bassist Tom Hamilton had this to say regarding Douglas working with the band:

“For those of you who don’t know who Jack is, he’s the guy who we worked with, producing our best albums of the ’70s – ‘Get Your Wings’, ‘Toys In The Attic’ and ‘Rocks.’ And it’s really gonna be cool, because there’s no one that knows more about the soul of this band and the creative part of this band [than] Jack.’
