According to a news report I just made up in my head March is one of the most popular months for going to the movies. This March began with a Dr. Seuss cartoon promoting IHOP and some car (along with 68 other product tie ins) and a movie about kids throwing a party. So how did everything stack up numbers wise? Dr. Suess’ The Lorax absolutely demolished the other films this weekend, making more money than the next 4 films combined. Taking the number two spot was Project X, a found footage teen party movie that was met with poor reviews, proving once again that no matter how bad a movie is all you need is teen hijinks and boobs to sell tickets. You can see the top ten movies of the weekend and their projected earnings after the jump.
