I am Empire Recording Sophomore LP

The proliferation of bands named “I am _________” over the last couple years is not the least bit disconcerting. Yet, one of the better “I am ________” bands going today is Christian rock outfit, I am Empire. Signed to Tooth & Nail Records, I am Empire released their debut full-length, Kings, last year and many considered it a promising output. Bringing together aspects of Anberlin, Emery, and 1980s metal, Kings caught many by suprise…in the best kind of way.

Well, it seems the San Jose, California quartet are currently recording their sophomore record. I am Empire are in Baltimore, Maryland recording with the great Brian McTernan (Thrice and Circa Survive). Take the jump to read I am Empire’s studio update.

This is what the group posted on their Tooth & Nail Records’ bio page,

We would like to announce that we are currently in Baltimore, Maryland recording our next full-length album for Tooth and Nail Records. We are working with producer Brian McTernan (Thrice, Circa Survivel) who owns and operates Salad Days Studio. We will be posting updates every few days on all our social networking sites, and we will also be posting weekly updates here on this blog so stay tuned. Peace.

Could we be looking at a Winter release?
