We’re extremely excited to premiere the solo debut from Kat Hamilton, the eccentric lead vocalist of New York City pop-rock outfit, Manic Pixi.
“Reminders” is the lead single from Hamilton’s forthcoming solo EP, The Grey Area. On first listen, “Reminders” hints at ’90s era indie-pop, but further listens reveal Hamilton’s soulful vocal performance which is a departure from her gritty pop effort on Mani Pixi records.
Kat Hamilton had this to say about “Reminders” and The Grey Area:
I have spent the last year working on this project and I’m really excited to finally release ‘Reminders.’ When I wrote the song, I knew it needed its own place outside of Manic Pixi. This solo release is my first step as a separate recording artist, producer, and songwriter. It’s a quiet labor of love. It nursed my broken heart back together. I love ‘Reminders’ and I can’t wait for you to hear it.
Take a listen to “Reminders” after the jump.
