Nine Concertgoers Stabbed At Swedish House Mafia Show; One Dead From Overdose

Swedish House Mafia

This week has started out with some seriously concerning news regarding Swedish House Mafia’s Dublin concert date this Saturday (July 7).

The group are currently on their farewell tour, with Tinie Tempah and Calvin Harris, when a crazed fan stabbed as many as four people while other victims sustained injuries during fights with knives and broken bottles. Three of concertgoers stabbed were seriously injured, one critically. In more terrible news, a 20-year-old fan also died from a drug overdose.

Denis Desmond (MD of concert promoters MCD) had this to say about the events that took place at the SHM show.

“Ticket holders entering the site were subject to a search permissible by law. Every precaution, as far as possible, was taken to ensure the safety and security of the audience at all times. Despite our best efforts – with security and gardaí personnel levels well in excess of the required numbers for a licensed event of this size – there is only so much one can do to combat anti-social behaviour.”
