MUSIC VIDEO: Sigur Rós – “Varúð”

Icelandic post-rock quartet, Sigur Rós, have released their new music video for their single, “Varúð”. The track comes off the group’s sixth album, Valtari, which was released this past May via Parlophone Records. You can check out the video after the jump.

The experimental music video is part of Sigur Rós’ “The Valtari Mystery Film Experiment“, an invitation to some of the better indie cinematographers to create low-budget films for Valtari’s songs.

The band described the film experiment as,

[giving] a dozen film makers the same modest budget and [asking] them to create whatever comes into their head when they listen to songs from the band’s new album valtari. the idea is to bypass the usual artistic approval process and allow people utmost creative freedom. among the filmmakers are ramin bahrani, alma har’el and john cameron mitchell.

The music video for “Varúð” (which translates in English to “Caution”) was filmed by Ryan McGinley. Check it out…
