Roadrunner Signs Heartist, Premieres “Disconnected” Lyric Video

Roadrunner Records may have just won the award for signing the worst band name in 2012. Heartist, who seems to have only been a legitimate band since early 2012, have joined the legendary rock label’s roster with plans to release their debut EP later this Fall. Their sound is a concoction of the progressive heavy sing/scream sound that Warped Tour kids have clung to in recent years mixed with what sounds like a watered down version of Periphery. You can stream their debut single, “Disconnected,” via a Youtube clip found after the jump.

After you give Heartist a moment of your time, comment below and let us know if you feel these guys have a future in hard rock.

I honestly think this is exactly the right amount of djent-ish dose that this scene needed since Periphery, an awesome band in my opinion, kicked in. If they amaze us with some great creativity and an interesting stile of taking this genre in their hands, they may have the success that they are looking for. As far as I can say, they have the sound, they have the idea…all they need is a little more progressive djent and a little less metalcore feeling, but it is just an opinion. Can’t wait to see these guys doing evolving!
