Record label TufAmerica is suing Kanye West, saying he illegally sampled singer Eddie Bo’s “Hook and Sling: Part 1” twice.
The two songs in question by the Chicago rapper are “Who Will Survive in America?” and “Lost in the World”, the final two tracks on his 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
The lawsuit states that the song was licensed by Kanye’s labels, but “failed and refused to enter into written license agreements that accounted for their multiple other uses of ‘Hook and Sling’.”
This isn’t the first time Kanye has been in the news this month, as he’s got two sex tapes floating around that were reportedly stolen from his computer. Let’s hope there’s never a What The Film!? on that flick.
