Queens of the Stone Age Not Releasing New Album in March 2013

UPDATE: Queens of the Stone Age deny releasing the follow-up to their 2007 album, ‘Era Vulgaris’, in March of 2013. Our source, NME.com, contacted the band’s management after reporting a missive from the band via FACT Magazine. The band’s management denied any knowledge of the album’s release date.

However, according to NME.com, Josh Homme did say the songs he recorded with drummer Dave Grohl for this album “sound like running in a dream”.

Grohl was recruited to play drums for the album after Joey Castillo quit. This is his first time playing drums on a Queens of the Stone Age album since they released Songs For The Deaf in 2002.

“I think this record is a little more lyrically vulnerable, but I also think it’s sort of musically deeper and richer, and it’s a little bit stranger,” Homme told Zane Lowe during an interview with BBC Radio 1.

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor as well as former Queens of the Stone Age bassist/vocalist Nick Oliveri have also been confirmed to be working on the album.

The band will be playing at the Download Festival in the UK this June. Tickets are available here.
