As Of Right Now, The Strokes Don’t Plan On Touring In Support Of ‘Comedown Machine’

The Strokes 2013

It’s not all unicorns and lollipops when it comes to The Strokes’ upcoming album Comedown Machine.

Bassist Nikolai Fraiture has stated that the band currently does not have a support tour in the works for their fifth album. Not only that, but any future touring plans have been limited to the abstract.

When asked by NME if the band would be hitting the road at some point in the future, Fraiture responded by saying, “I don’t know. I would love to tour.”

Fraiture continued, indicating a cautiously optimistic attitude about The Strokes, both as a going concern and in regards to their current dynamic.

It’s kind of funny that new music doesn’t feel as natural as it used to but for us, posting it when it is done feels like that is the way it should be done. When you make music you go up down, sometimes you feel strong and sometimes you feel scared. Right now, we just finished the album and I feel good about it and the atmosphere in the band. Hopefully it continues.

Hopefully The Strokes decide to be a bit more generous with their time and put in a couple weeks on the road. Their new material sounds pretty good through ear buds and laptop speakers. I’m sure it would do well in a live context.

I would love to see them live but a new album will have to suffice. Getting excited for it their new song “all the time” from it is giving me high hopes. Check it out http://smarturl.it/TheStrokesOfficial
