DJ Drama Confirms ‘Dedication 5’ With Lil Wayne, Asks Fans To Be Patient

It’s all starting to make sense now…

Following yesterday’s surprise release of a “Bugatti” freestyle from YMCMB leader Lil Wayne, the internet lit up with rumors and gossip over what the hip hop heavyweight would be unveiling next. Could it be another album? Had Weezy finally found his passion for rapping once more? Hours passed with no response, and then one of the people Wayne collaborates with the most came through with the details.

Though “Bugatti” will in fact appear on DJ Stevie J’s new mixtape, the real purpose of unveiling Wayne’s freestyle was to kickstart hype for the eventual release of Dedication 5. In a tweet posted shortly after noon on June 10, DJ Drama wrote “Yup. D5. Tunechi. Dram. YM. Stay tuned. But pleaaaase…. b patient.”

Anyone familiar with Lil Wayne’s release calendar in recent years knows the New Orleans bred rapper rarely makes his target release date. Dedication 4 was infamously delayed in the final hours before release, and set back again shortly after that.

We’ll keep our eyes peeled for additional Dedication 5 details, but we certainly don’t encourage anyone to hold their breath in anticipation.
