Kraftwerk Announce New Album

One of the most influential electronic groups arguably of all time, Kraftwerk, have announced they will be releasing a new album. It has been 10 years since 2003’s Tour De France Soundtrack, their most recent release.

During a conversation with The Guardian about the band’s iconic stage setup, Ralf Hütter confirmed that Kraftwerk is working on a new album. Hütter did not reveal how long the album would be or when it’s expected to be released, but focused more on the recording process (“It’s music non-stop!”). When finishing up the interview about their tour and the box set, Hütter said, “Now this is done, one to eight. Now we can concentrate on number nine.”

Kraftwerk have been touring their box set, The Catalogue, which encompasses all eight of their albums. Hopefully the next time they hit the road, fans will be hearing songs off this upcoming ninth album. Considering their status as electronic pioneers, it’ll be something else.
