Woody Allen Is A Pimp (Literally) In First ‘Fading Gigolo’ Trailer

Tuesdays are usually a day reserved for celebrating new releases, but in this post we’re going to pine over something most of us won’t be able to enjoy until 2014.

The Toronto International Film Festival is quickly approaching, and it seems every other day another trailer for a film premiering at the world-renowned event finds its way online. Today’s trailer is for Fading Gigolo, an upcoming comedy starring Woody Allen as John Turturro’s pimp. The film tells a not-so-average story about a working class man who teams up with his longtime friend to enter the oldest profession in the book, and the first trailer is pretty much a nonstop laugh riot. You can view the trailer below.

The official synopsis for Fading Gigolo reads: Woody Allen plays as bookseller-turned-pimp to John Turturro’s middle-aged neophyte hustler, in actor-writer-director Turturro’s inspired left-field comedy. The premise is as inspired as it is absurd, and Turturro carries it off with his own affecting and surprisingly romantic vision of New York City.

No release date for Fading Gigolo has been set beyond its TIFF premiere, but if the film is even half as good as it seems it will likely find distribution in no time. We’ll continue to follow the film’s development and let you know the moment new information becomes available. Until then, comment below and let us know your thoughts on the trailer.
