The second song off We Came As Romans’ recently released album to be given the single treatment, “Fade Away” finds WCAR stretching their common video structure to include more than high-gloss performance footage. This time around the performance is accompanied by a story about waking up those stuck in the various types of arrested development plaguing the current generation of teens and twenty-somethings. Members of WCAR appear floating above the ground, only to come crashing down as they wake. They have to struggle at first, but in time will grow strong once more. You can view the video below.
We Came As Romans may have a by-the-numbers take on heavy music, but their passion for creating a sense of community and interdependency within the hard rock scene is at the very least an admirable undertaking. “Fade Away” is one of their best tracks to date, and it will certainly be interesting to see how rock radio reacts to it in the months ahead. For now, comment below and let us know your thoughts on the new video.
