Nightwing And Wonder Woman Joining ‘Batman Vs. Superman’?

Not going to lie, I am a little surprised. Reports are coming in that there have been casting calls for the roles of Nightwing, and Wonder Woman, for the upcoming DC film, Batman vs. Superman. There is still no word if that is the official title or not, so we’ll just go with it.

According to Latino Review, Dick Grayson will be involved in the film, though he will no longer be at Batman’s side. In the comic canon, Dick Grayson grows tired of the Robin persona, and decides to leave Gotham and the under arm of Batman. For Wonder Woman, Jaime Alexander, who plays Sif in the Thor series, has supposedly read for the “female lead.” Along with Alexander, Ukrainian acress Olga Kurylenko has also been said to have read for the role as well.

What do you guys think of this? Having Nightwing in the film does make sense if you remember that Affleck’s Batman will be seasoned and weary, making it believable that his time with Dick Grayson has come and gone. But, my concern is that DC and Warner Brothers are attempting to catch up to Marvel far too quickly. Already taking in that we shall be seeing both Superman and Batman onscreen together, I just hope that the film doesn’t lose focus with attempting to provide a rogues gallery of DC heroes. I would rather the story be centered and thought out, then just giving us unnecessary cameos from DC’s canon. The Avengers worked so well, in my opinion, because the culmination was so anticipated.

But, these are all still rumors at best, and the female lead Warner is seeking may have nothing to do with Wonder Woman. With principle photography setting to begin in February, it won’t be long until hardened evidence begins to come out.
