UTG PREMIERE: Mike Mains And The Branches – “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” (Lyric Video)

It’s been quite a ride for Mike Mains and the Branches since the 2010 release of their debut record, Home. The Michigan natives have seen the highs of the music industry, achieving some radio success with their single, “Miracle,” and also its lows, when their van, trailer, and all of their possessions were stolen in 2012. They have endured both admirably, and here at Under The Gun, we’re very excited to be part of the next leg of their journey by bringing you the premiere of their new lyric video for “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright.”

The track fits right in with band’s soothing but upbeat brand of pop rock. Frontman Mike Mains incorporates bits of lullabies into the jangly tune, but the infectious end result is wholly his own. He alternates between restrained moments and soaring high notes with all the ease and finesse of the genre’s best vocalists. If you’re a fan of Hellogoodbye and Fun., do yourself a favor and check out the video below.

“Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” will appear on the band’s sophomore full-length, Calm Down, Everything Is Fine, due out February 18. The album has been a long time coming, receiving funding through a PledgeMusic campaign early last year, but it’s more than worth the wait. You can pre-order it right here and catch the band on tour in the midwest over the few weeks.
