Sony has released a teaser trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s upcoming Superbowl spot, and things do not seem to be going well for Gwen Stacy.

Throughout The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s marketing, the film has hinted towards the danger Gwen Stacy may find herself in, especially considering Peter is having a hard time keeping his promise of staying away from her, though nothing has been as exact as it is in this teaser. For those who are familiar with the comic series, you will know exactly what I am thinking of. The film may take the comic canon in another direction, but in a recent interview with Emma Stone, she claimed that “I think the intention the whole time has been to tell Gwen’s story as closely to the comic as possible.” Remember to tune in to this year’s Superbowl to see the entire action packed trailer.

Interestingly enough, Emma Stone is wearing an attire very similar to the one Gwen wears in one of her most notable comic appearances.
