Under The Gun is excited to be partnering with fast-rising Oklahoma metalcore quintet Ephemera to premiere their debut EP, Amoricide.
The world of hard rock and heavy metal has become so splintered in recent years that it has become incredibly hard to accurately categorize any act into one sub-genre. Ephemera present a straight up metalcore sound in the early moments of Amoricide, but as the album plays on there are alternative and post-hardcore influences that become increasingly present in the band’s sound. It’s an avalanche of sound that strikes your ear canal with such intensity that by the time you finish “The Letter M” you find yourself adrift in a sea of progressive hard rock, with not a thought or care in the world other than the need to hear more of what Ephemera have created.
You can stream Amoricide in full below. Ephemera are playing an EP release show tonight at The Conservatory in Oklahoma City and hope to soon take their electrifying live show on the road. We have no idea where they will find themselves in the future, but if they continue to forge ahead with the same fervent determination found on this release, there will be no stopping their ascent through the various echelons of underground stardom.
