Wye Oak’s “The Tower” Video: Improper Paint Use, Parking Garage Dance-Offs, The Stuff Of Dreams

So this is a fun one. Wye Oak have a new album coming called Shriek. They’ve shared singles “The Tower” and “Glory.” Now we have a video for the former, and it’s an odd one.

Our jolly house painters have a joy in their hearts that can be crushed by neither urban decay nor the slow melancholy of “The Tower.” They sing against surreal backdrops, cover their faces in paint, and have a dance party in a parking garage that was almost definitely a former fight club venue. Have fun?

Shriek is out April 29 on Merge and City Slang. Pre-order the album here. The band also has a slew of US and Canada tour dates coimg up – see them below.
