ALBUM STREAM: Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks – ‘Enter the Slasher House’

“Millions are waiting to be thrilled by the greatest horror the screen has ever known,” reads the opening text on the new video stream for Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks debut album, Enter the Slasher House.

Animal Collective‘s founding member made his new side project, Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks, not too long ago to record some new material that was a little more horror-focused than the indie electro freak group is known for. Comprised of Avey Tare, Dirty Projectors’ Angel Deradoorian, and drummer Jeremy Hyman (Dan Deacon, Ponytail), the group has a solid sound to back up its well-respected names.

Enter the Slasher House comes out April 8 via Domino, but they have put the full album up for streaming online. Instead of just inserting the audio into SoundCloud or partnering with a site, Avey Tare’s Slasher Flicks have put the whole thing on YouTube with accompanying visuals. They’re twisted, weird, and campy — exactly what we expect from Avey Tare (especially after seeing the “Little Fang” and “Strange Colores” music videos).
