New ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Trailer Offers First Glimpse Of Splinter

The first TV spot for the upcoming reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has debuted online, and though it runs under a minute in length it offers a few new shots from the film worth discussing. Specifically, the first glimpses of Master Splinter.

Dubbed ‘Brothers,’ the first TMNT TV spot is based around a narration that sounds like it is being delivered by Tony Shalhoub, who also voices Master Splinter in the film. We see the downhill sequence from the initial trailer, as well as a few classic Michael Bay inspired destruction porn shots, then – only for a few brief moments – the silhouette of Splinter appears on screen. Here at the two stills from the clip:

If you look closely at the second screenshot you may notice another yet-to-be-revealed character from the TMNT universe lurking in the shadows. The one and only Shredder.

Other highlights from the latest TMNT footage includes a first look at Raphael and Donatello, a brief glimpse of what looks to be a rocket skateboard, and plenty of CGI. You can view the clip at the end of this post.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opens August 8, 2014. Celebrities will voice the turtles, with Megan Fox and Will Arnett acting as the human ‘good guys.’
