Baths can be a hard pill to swallow for those accustomed to more mainstream electronic acts. Unpredictable and experimental, the haunting melodies fashioned by musician/producer Will Wiesenfeld may seem hard to navigate at first, but with time, have a habit of proving wonderfully accessible and wildly stimulating.
Last year, the 25-year-old released his second full-length album, Obsidian, which took listeners on a glitchy, falsetto-laden journey across carefully crafted soundscapes, and in a few weeks, it seems this latest effort will receive a “companion piece.” Titled Ocean Death, the five-track, twenty-minute EP will be put out May 6 through Anticon. Check out the release’s title track by following the jump below.
Though this initial offering is somewhat lackluster in my opinion, it has still managed to whet my appetite for more. Comment below and let UTG know if you’re also excited for Ocean Death.
