Singapore’s Avalanche Bring The Heavy With “Plaster Saint”

I love discovering international bands that tackle a sound refined in North America and make it entirely their own. It’s a feat that goes to show the amazing reach and power music has, regardless of nationality, and the latest band to knock me on my ass with their amazing technical prowess is none other than Singapore export Avalanche.

“Plaster Saint” is the kind of crazy, shred-tastic song that is impossible to resist if you’re a fan of modern metalcore. It has the bouncy bass line that runs rampant in today’s scene, only now it has been coupled with the type of guitar work that would make Matt Heafy smile. The video portrays the horrors of animal abuse if inflicted on a human, and it’s sure to leave a few of you feeling more than a bit uncomfortable. You can view the clip below:

Avalanche have no label and have only been together for a short amount of time, but the video for “Plaster Saint” is on par with many big budget productions we’ve seen released stateside in 2014. It’s good to know that there are bands in this world taking time to create beautiful, well-crafted clips to match equally well-produced music. In a time when there are tens of thousands of unsigned acts competing for attention, quality is more important than ever, and from what I can tell, Avalanche have their shit together. Bravo.

“Plaster Saint” is taken from the album Glass Silver Lining, which is expected to be released in 2014. A little birdy told me we may have a UTG exclusive in the works with the band soon, so make sure you keep an eye out for that as well.
