Flying Lotus Announces New Album ‘You’re Dead!’ and Tour

California electronic musician and producer Flying Lotus is undeniably talented. He creates sweeping trip-hop-infused electronic beats and funk-laced rhythms that speak from the soul, although maybe that’s because he’s related to John Coltrane. Earlier this year he shared previously unheard material and a music video for “Phantasm,” but now we finally get word of new material. On October 7, Flying Lotus will drop a new album titled You’re Dead! via Warp. Heads up: it’s going to be incredible.

The follow-up album to 2012’s excellent Until the Quiet Comes has been teased for some time now. In November of last year, he tweeted that the album has more of a “jazz feel” and that it’s been undergoing production fine-tuning for months. All relatives aside, the jazz influences may come from his recent work with jazz legend Herbie Hancock.

See the full list of tour dates in support of You’re Dead! below. If you want to be his number one fan, pick up a copy of Bob Ross on DVD and give it to him at one of the stops. FlyLo’s is so nice that it’s almost guaranteed he would give you swag in return.
