Deafheaven Debuted New Song “From The Kettle Unto The Coil” At Pitchfork

Pitchfork Music Festival seems like ancient news by now, having taken place July 18-20, but we’re just now getting some video from it. These things take time to edit. One clip is of a new Deafheaven song, which has been making the rounds. The new song is also accompanied by video of “Dream House” and “Sunbather” in the initial post.

The new song has all the things that got all the metal and non-metal folks alike into the band in the first place, like post-rock instrumental atmospherics and unintelligible lyrics. The crowd isn’t exactly going wild – the intensity on stage easily tops anything we see off – but there’s some enthusiastic head-banging. As noted by Pitchfork, “From the Kettle Unto the Coil” will be the band’s single for the Adult Swim Single Series; Deafheaven’s date is August 25, nestled in between Captain Murphy and RP Boo.
