Last month, Flying Lotus shared his first cut from his upcoming album, You’re Dead!, out October 7 via Warp Records. The song, titled “Moment of Hesitation,” saw Herbie Hancock, Thundercat, and more bringing jazz elements to the forefront while still showcasing FlyLo’s natural knack at magical electronic fluttering. Now he’s shared a new single, “Never Catch Me,” which features Kendrick Lamar.

“Never Catch Me” is considerably faster-moving than his last single. It explodes with a flurry of electronic stuttering, claps, and Lamar’s huge verse he drops partway through, making for a mindblowing experience if you’re wearing proper headphones. It’s encapsulating and dream-like, with Flying Lotus building the track to begin with a jazz front before exploding into his unique style come the end. Audiophiles, beware. This one’s a doozy.
