Indie-pop duo TeamMate are one of the most interesting acts in the genre. Formed through the breakup of drummer Dani Buncher and singer/keyboardist Scott Simons — when Dani decided to come out to Scott — the two decided to continue to make music despite the sudden turn in the relationship. And it’s a good thing the two didn’t stop making music — one would be hard-pressed to find an act with a discography more infectiously catchy than the music TeamMate is making. The band’s single “Goldmine” is arguably one of the catchiest songs to be released this year.
