Stream Aleg G’s New Single “Hollow”

There are some genres so flooded with artists that it’s hard to decide what actually stands out from the rest. This year, the sappy singer-songwriter trope has been given a diamond in the pile and there’s no denying he’s as talented as he sounds. Pennsylvania native Alex Giannascoli, or better known as Alex G, pens that wobbling acoustic melody that makes you struggle to realize what’s the bigger emotion inside of you: nostalgic happiness or despondent sadness. He knows what he’s doing, and if he keeps it up, he could be this generation’s Elliott Smith.

The 21-year-old is still attending college but has managed to write and release five albums. His newest track is “Hollow,” a calming number that’s perfect to flip on now that fall is here. The accompanying video is all the more consoling. Watch it below (via Noisey):
