Still riding high off the success of her 2014 album release, Ariana Grande has shared a new video built on the aesthetics of low budget science fiction.

If you listen to pop radio, or even if you know someone who listens to radio on a semi-regular basis when you’re around, there is a pretty decent chance you’re already familiar with Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time.” The song, which features EDM based production, finds the twenty-something singer yearning for one more chance to spend time with the man of her dreams. The video mirrors this desire with a science fiction plot revolving around an alien attack. Ariana and her beau are traveling when the arrival begins, and through what is essentially ‘found footage’ we watch as the pop superstar makes her way to the rooftop for a final glance at the world she loves. There’s a handsome man waiting for her, too. You can view the video below.

The idea behind this video is pretty cool, but I think the execution could use a little work. Grande has a clear affinity for science fiction, but in my opinion her high-gloss sound doesn’t pair well with the often grainy look of this video. Comment below and let us know your thoughts.
