During the winter of 2014 I discovered a band from New York called No Good News that I immediately knew had something special to their sound. I can’t describe what that something was in detail, but I knew it when I heard it, and with each of the thirty-plus plays I gave their EP since that time I have heard it again and again.

Turns out, I’m not alone in thinking this band could be the next big thing.

Today, Pure Noise Records announced the addition of No Good News to their ever-growing roster of talent. The label will be re-releasing the band’s Disposable Summer EP later this summer. Before then, the band will hit the road with Light Years, Head North, and Casey Bolles starting on June 5. Dates for that tour can be found below.

In celebration of today’s announcement, No Good News released the following statement:

We’re really excited to be joining the Pure Noise Records family. Jake has always been great to us and we have a lot of respect for the way he has grown Pure Noise and the bands he works with. We’re grateful that he’s given us the chance to have our songs heard by more people and to spend the rest of the year on the road playing those songs.
