Portland-based alternative band Icarus The Owl have released an entrancing music video for the band’s beautifully catchy track, “Skysweeper.” The song is the first single off the band’s upcoming record, Pilot Waves, which is due out Oct. 16 on Blue Swan Records.

The track shows Icarus The Owl’s proficient use of progressive songwriting mixed with melodic and thoughtful lyricism. Mix it with the powerful music video and it’s a release not to be forgotten any time soon. Vocalist Joey Rubenstein had this to say about the video.

“It’s the idea that only the thrill of the chase is appealing and once we have caught up to whatever we are chasing, we tend to throw it away.”
