Volcano Choir, the new project from Bon Iver leader Justin Vernon and his post-rock buddies Collections of Colonies of Bees, recently received a Best New Music distinction for their debut album Unmap.
In the video for album standout “Island, IS”, a series of colored boxes are projected onto a bridge in perfect time with the music’s bubbling rhythms. It’s simple, effective, and a little mesmerizing. Watch the clip, directed by Michinori Saigo, at Pitchfork.tv:
