Black Veil Brides Preview Billy Idol Cover, Plan EP Release

Love em or hate em, the members of Black Veil Brides have had a year unlike any other in 2011. From their breakout run on this Spring’s AltPress tour, to their Sophomore effort (which we trashed) and beyond, BVB have risen to the cream of the modern rock crop in the past twelve months and they’re celebrating this December with the release of a brand new EP.

Named after the cover of Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell” that will appear on the release, BVB will release the Rebels EP on or around Christmas 2011. Few details are known beyond the presence of the cover song, but we do have a brief video preview you can view after the jump.

It should go without saying, but whether or not you’ll like this teaser is completely based on your established opinion of BVB as a group. If you think they need to give up, you’ll probably hate it and if you’re a fan it may be the greatest thing you hear all day. We think no one should touch Billy Idol’s greatness, but we know their fans barely have any idea who that is.

  1. I’m a fan of BVB, and I didn’t think it was the greatest thing I heard all day because the video was too short. And I certainly do know who Billy Idol is! I remember when Rebel Yell came out; I think his version is the best and I hope BVB’s version does it justice.
