The Beatles’ ‘Sgt Pepper’ proclaimed world’s most valuable album cover

Modified artwork of The BeatlesSgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band has an estimated value of £70,000/$112,161.

What makes the value of this version skyrocket compared to the original? The original album art, done by by Sir Peter Blake, incorporated images of the legendary English rockers; however, the 1967 modification contains images of American music executives from Capitol Records. It’s speculated that only 100 of these limited edition vinyls were created. There are only three copies that are currently accounted for.
