One of the most talked about (and absurd) track to see release on Record Store Day has found its way online.
When The Flaming Lips announced plans to release an album featuring collaborative efforts, fans everywhere began to brim with excitement over who the group would choose to work with. The album, The Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends, drops yesterday and even the most diehards were probably shocked by the tracklisting. There, buried amongst names like Bon Ive and New Fumes, was Ke$ha and Biz Markie.
That’s right, the biggest experimental rock band of our time has partnered with two of pop’s biggest catchphrase makers to concoct a track we can safely say is unlike ANYTHING you have heard before. Click past the jump to stream, download, and enjoy “2012 (You Must Be Upgraded).”
If you would like to purchase a copy of The Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends, you’re shit out of luck. The record was an RSD exclusive and any copies not already placed in one’s personal collection is hitting all time high prices on eBay.
