Acoustic rap covers aren’t uncommon now-a-days. Any decent band with an acoustic guitar, webcam, and a sense of rhythm can pull one off have decently.
Often times, however, the song chosen to cover already has some sort of melodic flow to it, of some sort. A catchy hook or chorus can pull together even the most amateur rap cover. In today’s case, The Summer Set has pulled off a decent cover of a pretty straight forward rap classic by the Jiggaman himself. You can check out The Summer Set’s take on “99 Problems” inside.
