The Offspring have released a new song and fans hoping for a continued legacy of rock goodness may want to cover their ears and run for cover.
Released earlier today, “Cruising California (Bumpin’ In My Truck)” is a pop-friendly track about fun in the sun in the state of California. While I’m all for a good time, I also happen to remember when The Offspring kicked too much ass to exist in the same realm as top 40 radio and to hear them reduced to a pathetic joke version of their “Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)” selves is disheartening. See if you agree, after the jump.
The Offspring will be touring around the world for at least part of the Summer. If this song is any indication of their what their new material will sound like, you can count on us being late for the gig.

This is a joke. This can’t be real.
A very disappointing turn of events, made even worse that a lot of Offspring fans are very quick to defend it as a parody.
I love the Offspring, but holy shit.
It’s suppose to be a serious song, Dexter said him self that the new album has a lot of serious songs and he wanted to put on a fun song.
