Cro-Mags Show Canceled Due To Former Member Stabbing and Biting Band

This is a crazy, f*cked up world we live in. I’m not sure if it’s the heat messing with everyone’s heads or what, but geez people… where is the love?

Furthering news coverage of the crazy’s gone violent trend (bath salts are bad kids), today we’ve discovered that Harley Flanagan (former bassist/vocalist and founder) of the band Cro-mags went on a slashing spree at the band’s show at the CBGB festival yesterday.

Just prior to the band taking stage, Flanagan burst into the dressing room to find two members of his former band getting ready. In a fury, Flanagan began attacking with a hunting knife and his own teeth, cutting William Berario above the eye and biting him on his cheek while Michael “The Gook” Couls received cuts on his arm and stomach. In return, Flanagan was given a broken leg and an arrest.

According to the band’s Wikipedia page, Flanagan is trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, so he’s a tough son of a bitch. He’s not exactly somebody I’d want chasing after me with sharp implements, let alone be in my band. Perhaps that is why he was removed from the lineup in 2002, following animosity towards some of the group’s members.

A witness that night had the following to say.

“I talked to him outside minutes before it happened and I knew something was going to go down. He was like a lunatic outside. Next thing I know he’s in the VIP area stabbing people!”

The wounded members of Cro-Mags were taken to the nearby Bellevue Hospital with some non life-threatening wounds. Flanagan, was taken in as well for his leg. He took a legal hit with two counts of 2nd degree assault and some weapons charges.

This is what punk is all about, right?
