Sean Penn Goes Glam Rock, Hunts Nazis In “This Must Be The Place” Trailer

Only Sean Penn could make a film whose description includes the terms “washed-up rock star” and “nazis.” Okay, we don’t know that he’s made it work, but at least he hasn’t made us die of laughter (yet).

Coming off of mixed reviews at Cannes, the first trailer for “This Must Be The Place” has begun making the rounds online. The film stars Sean Penn as Cheyenne, a washed-up rock star who decides to finish his recently deceased father’s mission of tracking down the Nazi that put him through hell during the Holocaust. Sounds weird, I know, but one look at the trailer and you’ll see that Penn is giving it his best to make these two completely different ideas gel. Check it out, after the jump.

I’m not sold on this picture being great, but the presence of Penn gives me hope that there is something more than the trailers would lead us to believe.

This Must Be The Place opens November 2.
